Enneagram and Yoga Workshop

The Enneagram is a self-discovery tool that allows us to understand our motivations, tendencies, patterns and blind spots. Yoga, beautifully, does something similar. We will be using both the Enneagram and our yoga and meditative practices to learn and work through a little junk that we may be holding. Both the Enneagram and yoga help us find ways through our stuck places. Join us for a workshop that raises self-awareness and provides some gentle work of exploration and refining both the physical, mental, emotional and social self.

Basic understanding of the Enneagram and confidence in your “number will be helpful for this workshop. If you can access the book “Enneagram Essentials” that will be a very helpful tool in understanding your number. If you cannot access this information before the workshop, your are welcome to come to the studio anytime between 11:30 and 12:30 the morning of the workshop to discover what your number may be!

Rachael Jumonville, MS, RYT has ben a student of yoga for over 12 years and a student of the Enneagram for four. She has co-lead weekend retreats over the past few years that use the Enneagram and Yoga to explore spirituality as well as navigating life changes as well. She loves approaching the practice with an open mind and is always looking for something fresh that is it has to offer. She lives in Lakewood with her husband, two kiddos, and one on the way!

Reiki Attainment –
Level 1

Unlike other healing arts, reiki is passed from master to student through a reiki attunement that allows the student to connect to the universal reiki source. The attunement allows you to become a vessel of reiki, and move reiki energy for yourself and others. While you can read about reiki in a book and learn hand positions, until you have been attuned to channel reiki, you cannot truly practice reiki.
 
REIKI LEVELS

In Usui Reiki there are three levels that are taught traditionally.

Level I – Reiki Level I (called Shoden in Japan) is taught to those that wish to learn to use the Reiki Energy. The class is taught by a Reiki Master trained to pass the attunements and teach Reiki. A Reiki I class material generally includes the hand positions used when doing Reiki on self and others, the Reiki principles, and the history of Reiki. You then receive the attunements. Once you have received the attunements you are a Reiki Practitioner. Whether you practice Reiki or not is your choice. While Reiki works on all aspects of being (physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual), at Level 1 the energy appears to work most prominently on the physical level.

Level II – Reiki Level II (called Okuden in Japan) Level II generally includes the three Reiki Symbols (Focus, Harmony, and Connection), Mental/Emotional Healing, Distant Healing, symbols use and meanings are taught and the student receives one attunement.

Level III (Master Level) – Third Level Reiki (called Shinpiden in Japan) is the Master Level of Reiki. The Usui Master Symbol it’s meaning and application is taught. This symbol completes the other three symbols taught at Level II. Masters are taught how to initiate others into Reiki using the attunement process.

After you have received an attunement you can practise Reiki on yourself and friends, families and animals. You cannot as yet teach Reiki, but you can once you have been attuned to the Master symbol.
 
Once you have been attuned your body will go through an adaptation process. Your Chakras are opened and you are connected to the Reiki Source.
• You are able to channel Reiki through your hands to yourself or others by your link to the Reiki Source
• You will become increasingly aware of what you need to do in regards to your healing
• You may become more intuitive and psychic
• Further changes will manifest in your life that are needed and are distinctive to you

Trauma Sensitive Yoga 6 Week Series: Part 2

If you’re ready to move forward after part 1, this series is for you! We are all survivors of trauma in varying degrees and at different places along our healing journey. No prior yoga experience is required.

Each class is gentle and slow in nature, allowing the body and mind time to process and feel. You will come away with the knowledge and the tools to more adequately handle stressors connected to your trauma so you can walk through your life with more confidence and peace. You will also be given psycho-educational touchstones throughout the series to further validate your healing journey. All of this with a community of people showing up to remind you that you are not alone, we are all in this together.

 

Trauma-Informed Yoga is for anyone, but can be particularly helpful for trauma survivors including, but not limited to, the following types of trauma:

-PTSD of any kind
-Childhood/developmental trauma
-Bullying
-LGBTQ marginalization/discrimination
-Sexual trauma
-Surviving a natural disaster
-Surviving/witnessing an attack
-Secondary/Vicarious Trauma
-Emotional/spiritual/physical abuse
-Death of a loved one and/or close encounters with death
-Surviving an accident
-Surviving or witnessing anything horrific and/or traumatizing

 

This series is part 2 of the Trauma-Sensitive Series. It’s highly recommended that you complete part 1 of the series before signing up for part 2. This extension will be similar in pace and safety, but will introduce concepts of trauma as it imprints on the body and in the viscera that build upon the ones introduced in part 1. Once you begin your journey of releasing trauma from the body through the modality of trauma-sensitive yoga, it can be helpful to have community and guidance to continue along this path.

It is aimed to be an adjunct treatment for trauma and it’s recommended that survivors have talk therapy as needed.*The healing journey is an ongoing and daily surrender. Please do not have expectations that you will be healed after an 6-week series. This series is intended to help the healing process and better equip you in that journey.
