I have been teaching since 2001 and was certified at the 500 hour level in 2007. I have had the honor to study with many exceptional teachers and philosophy scholars. I took my first yoga class at the age of thirty and even though I couldn’t touch my toes, I fell in love! Nothing like yoga had left me feeling so connected to the real me. For the first time in my life, as awkward as I was (and still am), I felt like an athlete. In addition to becoming stronger and more flexible, I found the practice to be an art form – a beautiful means of artistic expression. Over the years the practice of yoga has been the life line that has gotten me through the ups and downs of life – the ballast that holds me steady through the full spectrum of experience. It has given me a wonderful community to be a part of regardless, of what city I’m living in. I have gravitated to styles of yoga that emphasize alignment. It has been my experience, that alignment offers huge potential to progress in your practice and to heal the body. Therefore, the focus of my training has been alignment based styles – Iyengar and Anusara, anatomy and bio-mechanics.  Sharing yoga is my joy. I love to see students turn an “I can’t” into an “I can,” to experience healing on every level and to possess greater health and vitality at any age.
My classes offer a practical approach to yoga, concise alignment instruction and since I tend to be a bit of a goof ball – humor! They are challenging with doable options so that the student may choose their optimal experience on any given day.
