Emily received both her 200-HR and 300/500-HR yoga teaching certifications at Grassroots Yoga. She has been practicing yoga since 1995, and has been a teacher since 2013. Emily began her yoga practice during a time in her life when she was seeking stability and direction, and found that yoga allowed her to move with confidence and meaning. She believes that yoga is a union of breath, body, and spirit. That the play and practice that happens on the mat creates an awareness and empowerment that ripples outward into every aspect of our lives.
All Levels Vinyasa Class
Emily’s Vinyasa flows are unique due to the dance like movements, the incorporation of music, and the specific energetic arc of each class. Her classes are taught in the Vinyasa style, linking breath with movement, and fluidly moving from one pose to the next. Toward the end of class you can expect some longer soothing postures for relaxation and cool down leading to savasana. Emily’s focus in teaching is to encourage students to notice their breath, energy, thoughts, feelings, and physical sensations and modify their practice accordingly.
