Lauren Turner Dolan received her 200-HR yoga teacher certification and Yin yoga teacher training at Grassroots, and has been practicing yoga since 2005. She was inspired to take yoga beyond her personal practice and into teaching when she interned at Vanderbilt Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, and had the opportunity to work with patients who were using tailored yoga practices to combat their medical ailments. She was immediately blown away by how yoga helped her patients find calm, and get through difficult situations. When she isn’t working as a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor, Lauren teaches gentle and restorative yoga, with a focus on using yoga and mindfulness practices to bring calmness and wellness. Lauren hopes you walk out of her classes with a greater sense of non-judgment towards yourself, and a feeling little more clear about what matters to you.

Gentle & Restorative Yoga

Lauren’s gentle and restorative classes are paced slowly to soft music, with opportunities for students to modify poses and use props as they like. Lauren makes a point to offer variations throughout class so that folks can choose what works best for their body. She begins class with several moments of intentional breathing and then gets your body moving, staying mostly on the floor throughout class. Each of Lauren’s classes focus on a specific area of the body, releasing tension in that area. Classes sometimes include short guided visualizations or simple mindfulness exercises, with the goal of leaving yogis feeling calm and grounded.
