Lisa started practicing yoga during college in 2001 at the University of New Mexico. Her practice began as a means to relieve stress, gain flexibility, and maintain healthy movement. Over the years, her yoga, meditation, strength training, and movement practice have evolved into a way of life. Lisa completed her 200-hr Teacher Training at the Yoga Place, in humble Canton, OH. There she was trained in Hatha, Vinyasa, and Therapeutic yoga, while also studying Iyengar and Asthanga Yoga. Lisa has taken 100 hours of advanced 300-hr trainings including; Yoga and the Brain – Neuroscience and Asana Practice, Hatha Alignment Series, and Yoga Therapeutics. Along with an ERYT-200 certification, she is also an experienced Certified Personal Trainer. She combines her knowledge of functional movement and strength training with traditional Yoga Asana to provide a well-rounded movement practice inviting for all levels. Lisa blends traditional yoga asana with modern movement techniques and somatic awareness to build a well-rounded and healthy practice for her students. Lisa provides a sweet and accessible space to develop and enrich personal relationship to movement, body, heart, and mind.
Off the mat, you might find Lisa nose deep in textbooks about movement theory and anatomy, riding around on her bike, or out in nature with her partner, James. Lisa is also a graduate student studying to become a Clinical Mental Health Counselor with hopes of incorporating mindfulness practices with treatment protocols for PTSD.
